Indrajit Sabharwal Famous Entrepreneur in India Indrajit Sabhrwal is one of the famous entrepreneur in India. His hardwork and patience led to him a successful entrepreneur. After acquiring an engineering degree from Pune University, he bagged a Rs 1,500 a month job with ICL UK (now Fujitsu ICIM), a Pune-based company. He notched up three part-time management degrees. In 1991, he shifted to Delhi, job-hopped twice, working up the pecking order in Comptech and International Data Corporation, before finally deciding to turn an entrepreneur. In January 1992, he launched a small consultancy, SI Consultants, with barely Rs 10,000. He took a bank loan to buy a computer, hire three employees, and we were in business. Over the next eight months, I worked with the likes of Modi Lufthansa, Xerox, HP Digital and Sahara Airlines on business development and IT solutions, earning nearly Rs 30 lakh. Towards the end of the year, while holidaying in California, he was introduced to
one of the owners of Kingston Technology. The meeting led to an association with the world's largest independent manufacturer of memory products, and over the next two years, he was not only Kingston's distributor in India, but was also trained in manufacturing memory technology. He travelled to the US every two months to hone his skills while his staff continued to run SI Consultants. He started his own brand Simmtronics for memory modules in 1992. He took the company’s annual sales to over Rs. 300 crore in 2010-11. Currently, Simmtronics Semiconductors Limited is a Limited Company with a staff of nearly 600 employees. Its subsidiaries are in Singapore, Dubai, USA and it has 11 sales offices globally. Today Simmtronics is one of the largest Tablet PC / memory / motherboard manufacturers in the world and is growing to be a complete products and solutions company in the global hardware space. Sabharwal has been instrumental in creating the sub-10k PC the 1st of its kind in the globe. In 1990, he started a proprietary concern SUPERCOM in India, which was primarily trading in memory modules. Sabharwal was a Country Representative for the largest memory module company - Kingston Technology Corp USA and introduced Kingston to Indian market.
