CE2GA NEWS Civil & Environmental Engineering Graduate Student Association News January 7th, 2008 • What We’ve Been Up To: • We are recruiting for intramural soccer, • basketball and dodgeball teams. Last • semester our soccer, slow-pitch, • and basketball teams did well. • The M.Eng students now have access to their own room equipped with computers. We are going to see that further improvements be made. • M.Eng students now have their own • Coordinator, Dr.Hegazy. • Phil Schmidt continues to represent us at departmental meetings. • Next Term General Meeting • (TGM): • Date: January 10, 2008 • Time: 11:30am • Place: E2-2348 • Why attend? • Hear about what we were up to last term • Hear about this term’s events • Give feedback to the Chair Selection Committee • Free PIZZA! • Chair Selection Committee • Members of the Chair Selection Committee will be present at the TGM to gather feedback from grad students. • Feedback may include: • TA tasks • curriculum • supervisors • external visibility of the department • infrastructure - labs, rooms, etc. • chair/graduate student relations • intra-department activities We hope you will take advantage of this valuable opportunity! Social Event Date & Time: TBA Location: K-W Granite Club We will be going curling this semester for our social event. We hope many of you will come out and enjoy a popular Canadian sport! If you don’t know how to curl no worries! The Granite Club has already promised to give an introduction to the sport.
