  2. PURPOSE OF CODE LAVENDER The purpose of Code Lavender is to provide intentional care for Tampa General Hospital staff and medical staff during times of great need. The healthcare team requesting the Code Lavender will be seen as the focus of care. It is their support that will have priority of the Code Lavender team.

  3. Code Lavender is the coordinated response of a multi-disciplinary team that provides administrative, emotional and spiritual support as well as grief counseling and crisis debriefing when a team at Tampa General could use additional support

  4. EXAMPLES OF REASONS FOR CALLING A CODE LAVENDER 1) Deaths on the floor that have been difficult for the staff. 2)Personal difficulty on one staff member that is affecting the functioning of the group. 3) Distressing medical situation of patient 4) Distressing medical situation or staff member 5) Death of staff member that affects functioning of the group 6) When a team in in need of extra care

  7. FIRST CALL AT NIGHT TO CHAPLAIN CHAPLAIN AND MANAGER WILL DECIDE URGENCY

LIST OF RESOURCES • Chaplains providing counseling, meditation, grief work, debriefing, and prayer • Social Workers providing counseling, grief work, and debriefing • Integrative wellness support with modalities available at the time of the Code Lavender -such as - Energy techniques i.e. Healing Touch, Reiki, Quantum Touch, Guided Imagery, Mindful Breathing and Relaxation, Sound/Music for Relaxation, Heart/Math tools/technologies for stress relief, Aromatherapy Continued

  9. LIST OF RESOURCESCONTINUTED • Chair Massages provided by licensed massage therapist • Crisis Debriefing by Care 24 personnel • Hospital psychologist consultations as available • Administrative help with staffing changes • Snacks as determined following normal TGH catering policy
