  4. Words in Spiral- Anaphora, Assonance, Consonance, Alliteration, Imagery, Rhyme, Meter, Stanza

  5. Vocabulary Chart

  6. Repetition- When an author repeats the same word or phrase over and over to enhance the meaning • Anaphora- When an author repeats a phrase or word at the beginning of multiple lines in a poem.

  7. Assonance- Repetition of a vowel sound • Consonance- Repetition of a consonant sound • Alliteration- Repetition of the sound at the beginning of words

  8. Imagery- When the writer uses descriptive details to paint a picture in the head of the reader. (Specifically relating to the 5 senses)

  9. Rhyme- Repetition of similar sounds in two or more words • Meter- Basic rhythmic structure in lines of a poem

  10. Stanza- A group of lines in a poem
