EXILE • Miriam Makeba was Exiled out of South Africa • She then traveled to England where she met Harry Belafonte who helped her become famous in the United States • In 1964,Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela got married, two years later they got divorced • In 1966, Miriam Makeba received a Grammy Award for Best Folk Recording • On the 10 June 1990 she returned to South Africa

  4. BACK IN SA • For most of her life she fought against the apartheid government. • Later on (when she returned to South Africa) she helped with Food, Agriculture and Children that suffered with HIV/AIDS
