Main Characters/ Places • Beowulf: Epic Hero- a Geat • Hrothgar: King of the Danes • Herot: Hrothgar’s mead hall • Served as place of refuge for men after battle • Grendel: Evil, cursed monster who kills many Danes in Herot. Descended from Cain • Higlac: King of the Geats and Beowulf’s uncle • Hrunting: Magical sword lent to Beowulf by the Danes
