Lessons learnt • Programme level • Start programming process early • Separate functions (planning/implementation/control) • Project level • Generate projects from own strategies – but with inputs from outside (via Interreg?) • Integration, vertical (EU/national/regional/local), horizontal (Triple Helix) • Involve politicians, stakeholders, media • Prepare the project early and carefully – this is ”half of the implementation” • Cofunding - Letters of ”Confirmation”, not only ”Support/Interest” • Administration officer from start of proj development • Don´t underestimate administration and control costs 2012-04-26

  23. A Good (Interreg) Project • is genuinely crossing borders and jointly carried out at all phases – definition and scope of the problem, project development, implementation, evaluation • gives a cross-border/transnational/interregional value added. • has a strategic impact – addresses vital problems for a sustainable development in all the programme area. • builds on development strategies at european/national/regional/local level • has a solid partnership, horizontally and vertically • takes concrete action (ie material/immaterial investment) Physical investment limited, but possible if pilot • avoids duplications of earlier projects - but could preferably build on them • gives enhanced competence to participating project actors. • has measurable andtangible goals, and transferable resultats to be be disseminatedand remain after the project period. 2012-04-26
