  1. Christopher Columbus • Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa Italy, in 1451. He died in 1506, in Valladolid, Spain, on May 20. • Christopher Columbus explored the coasts of Cuba, Jamaica, and the Caribbean island of San Salvador. • By Gabi Johnson, and Sammy Corso, in 5th grade.

  2. THE JOURNEY • Christopher Columbus went on the journey in 1492, 1493, and 1498. Christopher Columbus was the only explorer or person who went on the journey to the coasts of Cuba, Jamaica, and the Caribbean islands of San Salvador. One of his discoveries were the Caribbean islands Of San Salvador, Jamaica, and the coasts of Cuba. He went on the journey because he was looking for a trade route Asia (the east indies), where Many valuables could be traded, Such as silk, and spices.

  3. Hardships and discoveries • One of Christopher Columbus hardships is when the governor Bobadilla, of Hispaniola, Spain had arrested him , and had brought him back to where he was from, Spain, but in chains. His discoveries were the Caribbean islands of San Salvador, Jamaica, and the coast of Cuba.

  4. Bibliography • We used the social studies text book, Google images for the pictures, and Google for important facts, and www.expertspace.grolier.com also for important facts.

  5. Additional facts and pictures • Christopher Columbus was actually looking for a shorter route to Asia. His name in Spanish is ChristoforoColumbo. At the end of the 15th century most of every one knew the earth was a sphere, but Columbus under estimated the size of the earth by one fourth.
