  2. Google Chrome is an internet browser that can be used with multiple devices. Some Google Apps for Education features can only be used within Chrome.

  3. Reload – refreshespage you are on Home – takes you back to your home page Chrome Basics Back Button & Forward Button– move you toprevious page or next page in the series.

  4. Chrome Basics Omnibox (Address Bar) • Enter URL to go directly to a website • Enter search terms to browse the internet

  5. Chrome Menu The menu is where users can access settings and customization options.

  6. Chrome Menu Click on settings to customize your Google Chrome!

  7. Change appearance of your browser by choosing a theme.

  10. Chrome Menu: Tabs Add a tab: • Menu>>new tab • Command T • Click tab icon

  11. Chrome Menu: Tabs To delete a tab: • Click the x on the tab

  12. Pin – will appear every time Chrome opens: right click (ctrl click) tab, and a window appears. choose the Pin Tab option. New Window – click & drag, ideal for minimizing other tabs Unpin – right click (Ctrl click) on the tab. **Pinned tabs cannot be moved. Tabs: Arrangement Reorder– click & drag

  14. Tabs: Options New Window-- organize websites into different windows instead of tabs.

  15. Tabs: Options New Incognito Window-- browse the web privately. Nothing is stored on the computer and all browsing history is deleted once the window is closed. tells you you’re in Incognito Mode

  16. Adding Bookmarks If you access a link frequently, you might want to bookmark it: 1. Menu 2. Click Star 3. ⌘-D

  17. Saving Bookmarks When adding bookmarks, this dropdown window appears. Save bookmarks to Bookmarks Bar or Other Bookmarks folder. You can also remove a bookmark.

  18. Organizing Bookmarks Organize bookmarks into folders: 1. Choose an existing folder 2. Create a new folder.

  20. Organizing Bookmarks Import Bookmarks- import bookmarks from other browsers Bookmark Open Pages- bookmark all websites open in different tabs Open All Bookmarks- Opens all bookmarks in separate tabs. Bookmark Manager- view & organize bookmarks

  21. Recent Tabs Recent Tabs shows history of recently opened tabs.

  22. Edit Edit-- a shortcut to the Cut, Copy, & Paste functions within Chrome

  23. Zoom Zoom-- zoom in/out on a page or enter full screen mode. To exit zoom return to the menu and click diagonal arrows again.

  24. Save Page As Saving a site’s content offline: Webpage Webpage, Complete creates an accompanying folder containing all it’s images and links. HTML Only saves only the text.

  25. Find Find-- locates information quickly and easily by searching for a keyword on websites.

  26. Print Print and control print setup.

  27. History review history from any device using Google Chrome. Revisit pages accessed in the recent past or delete unneeded pages.

  28. Downloads Downloads-- search & find downloaded files from any computer by name, date, or file type. Clear All to remove files from Chrome’s download cache.

  29. Sign In Sign In to Chrome at any computer. Start working at work/home/school and continue working in another location.

  30. Help Get online help for any Chrome issues or unknowns.

  31. Chrome Store Clicking the Apps icon in the upper left corner of the screen will bring you to the Chrome Store where you can search for and add apps & extensions.

  32. Chrome Store Apps For Your Desktop Apps work offline without Chrome Offline Apps-- no internet connection needed Google Drive Apps integrate with Google Drive

  33. For Your Desktop You do not need internet connection or the Chrome browser to run For Your Desktop Apps. When you download a desktop app, the Chrome App Launcher appears on your desktop (PC) or Dock (Mac) to access the app.

  34. Offline Apps Offline Appscan run without an internet connection but still within Chrome.

  35. Google Drive Apps Google Drive Appswill integrate with your Google Drive.

  36. Education Education Appsto enhance teaching & learning.

  37. Extensions Extensionsare apps that work within Chrome. Downloaded extensions appear to the right of the address bar.

  38. Tools: Extensions Enable or Disable different extensions using the Extensions option under Tools in the Google Chrome Menu.
