  1. Diabetic Retinopathy & It’s Treatment : One of Leading Cause of Blindness In today’s era, Diabetic Retinopathy is one of the increasing disorder in the population. DR is a complication of diabetes and one of the leading cause of blindness in the world. So, Prakash Netralaya, eye clinic in Baner has decided to aware the people about Diabetic Retinopathy and it’s treatment options. Prakash Netralaya also provides the service of Diabetic Eye Checkup to their patients. Diabetic retinopathy leads to damage blood vessels within the retinal tissue, causing them to leak fluid and distort vision.

  2. Treatment Options Treating DR depends on many factors, containing the type of DR and severity, and previous history of that patient i.e. how the individual with Diabetic retinopathy had responded to previous treatments. With NPDR, a doctor might plan to monitor the person's eyes closely while not intervening. This is called as watchful waiting. Persons will have to work with their concern doctor to control their diabetes. Good blood sugar control can significantly slows down the development of DR. In many of cases PDR, the patient will need to have immediate surgical treatment. The following options are available: Focal Laser Treatment or Photocoagulation : The whole procedure is carried out in an eye clinic. Targeted optical maser burns seal the leaks from abnormal blood vessels. surgical operation will either stop or bog down the discharge of blood and buildup of fluid within the eye. People can typically expertise blurred vision for twenty-four hours following focal optical maser treatment. tiny spots might seem within the visual view for a number of weeks once the procedure.

  3. Scatter Laser Treatment, or Pan-Retinal Photocoagulation Scattered optical maser burns are applied to the areas of the tissue layer removed from the macula, unremarkably over the course of 2 or 3 sessions. The macula is that the space at the middle of the tissue layer within which vision is strongest. The optical maser burns cause abnormal new blood vessels to shrink and scar. Most patients need 2 or 3 sessions for the simplest results. Individuals might have blurred vision for twenty-four hours following the procedure, and there could also be some loss of visual modality or visual sense. Vitrectomy This involves the removing of number of the vitreous from among the eyeball. The doc replaces the clouded gel with a transparent liquid or gas. The body can eventually absorb the gas or liquid. This can produce new vitreous to switch the clouded gel that has been removed. Any blood within the vitreous and connective tissue that will be pull on the tissue layer is removed. This procedure is performed during a hospital beneath general or anesthetic. The tissue layer may be reinforced and control in position with small clamps.

  4. After surgery, the patient might ought to wear a watch patch to step by step regain use of their eye, which may tire when a vitrectomy. If gas was accustomed replace the removed gel, the patient shouldn't pass by plane till all gas has been absorbed into the body. The doctor can tell the patient however long this could take. Most patients can have foggy vision for a couple of weeks when surgery. It will take many months for traditional vision to come back. Surgery isn't a cure for diabetic retinopathy. However, it's going to stop or slow the progression of symptoms. Polygenic disorder (Diabetes) may be a long condition, and consequent retinal injury and vision loss should still occur despite treatment Prevention For the majority of people suffering from diabetes, Diabetic Retinopathy is an inevitable consequence. However, patients who have diabetes and can successfully manage their blood sugar levels will definitely help to prevent the onset of a severe form of DR. Hypertension or High blood pressure, is another important contributing factor. Patients suffering from diabetes need to control their blood pressure by: •Eating a balanced and healthy diet •Doing regular exercise •Maintaining a healthy body weight

  5. •Smoking cessation •Controlling alcohol intake •Taking any antihypertensive measures according to their doctor's instructions •Attending regular screenings Early detection of symptoms can increase the effectiveness of the treatment.
