  1. Pneumatic Equipment Document Number: KOC.SA.009 • Purpose: • The purpose of this document is to provide guidance and outline responsibilities associated with the correct and safe use of Pneumatic Tools and Equipment. • The following are the key actions/deliverables indicated out of this procedure for the purpose of induction only, enabling contractor to estimate basic resource requirements (it does not mean that the other actions/ deliverables are not applicable): • The requirements for adequate numbers of air blowers, air compressors shall be estimated well beforehand considering all site activities, which shall also include following: Abrasive cleaning, spray painting, pneumatic excavation/jack hammer, pneumatic testing of process equipment/piping, breathing air, purging, pneumatic flushing etc. • All pneumatic equipment/accessories shall be inspected, tested and maintained periodically and records maintained. • Personnel, including Supervisors, trained in safe use of compressed air and compressed air operated tools. • The pneumatic tools used shall meet KOC requirements on Noise Control. • Ensure personnel uses appropriate PPE while operating the Pneumatic tool, including suitable hearing protection. • Prohibition on usage of mobile air compressors in Zone 0 and Zone 1 classified hazardous areas.
