  2. What task does the robot perform? Silently cleans within the home. Sweeps the floor, carry tableware placed on a tray, dishes in dishwasher.

  3. What is its envelope (how many degress of freedom or flexible joints does it have?) Neck moves in three directions and arms move in seven directions.

  4. Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? If so, what other task can it perform? Open and close doors. Tidy up rooms. Mop floors. Do laundry and put away dishes. Smart enough to move furniture as necessary and put in original position.

  5. How is the robot taught to perform its task? Currently the robot is being programmed to perform cleaning duties such as sweeping the floor, picking up stray objects, and loading a washer with dirty clothes and more.

  6. Name some advantages and disadvantages of using a robot to complete this task. Advantages: Cleans your house Disadvantages: You’re becoming lazy

  7. What sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use these sensors A combination of laser and stereo data allow it to recognize features in its environment such as furniture, tools, and laundry, it has SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) paired with a three-dimensional virtual model of its self and surrounding which is constantly updated to include data such as where in a particular item is stored or where a person is.
