  1. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling ISBN 9780439064873: DIRECTIONS: 1) Draw the outline of a shirt on a sheet of poster board. 2) Cut out the shirt. 3) On the “front” of the shirt, write a slogan in sentence form which indicates the theme of the novel. On the bottom right corner of the poster board, parenthetically document the page number(s) from the novel which correlates with your slogan. 4) On the “back” of the shirt, illustrate a scene from the novel which demonstrates the slogan/theme you have chosen. Illustrations must be in color. On the bottom right corner of the poster board, parenthetically document the page number(s) from the novel which correlates with your illustration. 5) Color the shirt itself carefully. The color should also represent the theme of the novel. 6) The shirt must cover approximately 90% of the poster board. 7) Type an explanation of your shirt in which you explain WHAT the theme of the novel is, HOW your slogan indicates the theme of the novel, WHAT your illustration narrates, HOW your illustration matches your slogan and/or theme, HOW your shirt color exemplifies the theme, and WHERE you found this in the book. ALTERNATE ASSIGNMENT: You may purchase and design an actual t-shirt instead of using poster board. • Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare ISBN 9780451526816: Create a Facebook page for one of the characters. Use a 1/2 sheet of white poster board. 1) The front half of the poster board contains all elements of the “wall” page, including a profile pic, quote, information, friends, photo albums, posts, etc. 2) The back half of the poster board contains all elements of the “information” page, including About Me, Personal Information, Books, Pages, Groups, Networks, etc. 3) The posts reflect the chronological journey of the character throughout the novel. You must have a minimum of twenty-five posts on the wall and a minimum of 250 words on the information page. 4) The project reflects accurate information from the novel and an excellent direct and/or indirect characterization of the assigned character. 5) The poster must accurately portray a real Facebook page, using the same format, colors, etc.) 6) The project is carefully completed with time evidently invested in creating the details of the page and portraying the character. Project has few grammar errors. 7) Your entries must all be parenthetically documented correctly. • Anthem by Ann Rand ISBN 9780451191137: Create a collage which represents one of the main characters. 1) You must include a minimum of twenty artifacts on the collage. Artifacts must vary and be representative of the entire novel. 2) The collage must be at least 1/2 of a poster board. 3) On a separate sheet of paper, TYPE ten 1-paragraph explanations for each of the ten artifacts. Number the artifacts to correspond with the explanations. 4) The explanations must be in chronological order (in order to narrate the story effectively). 5) Include proper parenthetical documentation at the end of each entry. NO POSTER BOARD SHOULD BE VISIBLE.
