    3. Our Purpose: To share the yearlong and daily building schedule To explain what courses are required for every freshman To provide information about available electives To share what sample student schedules might look like To explain the process you will follow to select your courses

    5. Freshman Center schedule: Six sixty minute periods Core courses run all year long Some full credit electives Some half credit electives (every other day) Lunch built into period 4 class PRIDE

    6. 2015 Required Courses: Full credit core courses: English Social Studies Earth and Space Science (Geology, Astronomy, Meteorology, Ecology) Mathematics (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II) Half credit (meets every other day) Physical Education

    7. What level do I take? Each of the core courses is available at an honors or college & career preparatory level. Some courses are offered in a cyber format and are noted with a “C” in the Program of Studies. Students requesting cyber courses are REQUIRED to attend an information session and participate in an orientation session prior to the start of the school year. Parent permission is also required. Co -taught sections are available by IEP/counselor/teacher recommendation only. Your child’s current teachers and guidance counselor can help you decide what is right for your child.

    11. What happens now? Students received similar information and a worksheet. Middle school counselors and teachers will work with your child to help them choose appropriate courses
