Overview of PMOL Charter Gap in the current charters of IETF WGs • development of performance metrics for IP-based protocols and applications that: • operate over UDP, TCP, SCTP, DCCP, and other robust transport protocols, or • use FEC • and can be used to characterize traffic on live networks.

  5. 2 PMOL Deliverables • Framework and guidelines memo for performance metrics • Need to specify Audience, Motivation, necessary elements of metrics • guidelines for a PM development process • entry criteria for new proposals and how an successful proposal will be developed • A proof-of-concept RFC: performance metrics for SIP, based on draft-malas-performance-metrics • serve as an example of the framework and the PMOL process in the IETF
