  2. Annual Safety Survey • First time in CAP history we have had 100% of the required units participate. • Your NHQ Safety Team wrote the new Annual Safety Survey and had I/T put it online for easier unit completion. • We now have electronic Safety Survey documentation for every unit in CAP.

  3. Annual Safety Survey • Given this capability, commanders and safety officers now can assist subordinate units in correcting negative findings. • Of the 8 regions and 52 wings, 7 regions and 28 wings completed the surveys by the due date of 31 January 2009.

  4. Safety Specialty Track • Since June of last year, your NHQ Safety Team has developed PowerPoint presentations for both the Technician and Senior Levels. • The Master Level should be online within the next few weeks along with related updates to CAPR 62-1 and CAPP 217.

  5. Operational Risk Mgmt • Your NHQ Safety Team has completed writing 3 ORM courses. • Basic Level ORM • Intermediate Level ORM • Executive Level ORM

  6. Operational Risk Mgmt • Basic Level ORM – Should be taken by every member of Civil Air Patrol. • Intermediate Level ORM – Designed to be taken by senior mission base personnel and FRO’s. • Executive Level ORM – Designed to be taken by all wing commanders and above.

  7. Mishap Statistics FY 2009 • 45 Aircraft Mishaps • 15 Maintenance • 3 Animal Strikes • 2 Weather Related = 25 Aircraft Mishaps

  9. Mishap Statistics FY 2009 • Between 14 November 2008 and 24 February 2009 we have had 4 accidents. • 2 – On take off • 1 – Mid Air Collision • 1 – On Landing Roll Out • We were to have no injuries or fatalities in any of these accidents.

  14. CAP Qualified Safety Officer From February 2008 until February 2009 we have improved the number of CAP Qualified Safety Officers.
