  1. PRP Treatment Injections of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are becoming more common for a variety of conditions, including hair loss and sports injuries.

  2. PRP Treatment What is PRP treatment? A series of injections of platelet-rich plasma taken from your own blood make up PRP therapy. (Platelets are fragments of cells that are necessary for blood to clot). About half of a person's blood volume is plasma, a yellowish liquid). Growth factors are proteins found in platelet-rich plasma that encourage tissue growth. When these growth factors are injected into the scalp, it is thought that this is what causes new hair to grow. For more information visit to PRP in Islamabad "The goal of the majority of available treatments for hair loss is to reactivate your hair follicles because your hair follicles don't die when you lose hair. "Another approach to "waking up" the hair follicles and restoring their normal function is PRP therapy. What the treatment entails When you show up for your appointment, the doctor will use a needle in your arm to draw about 1 to 2 ounces of blood. To stop blood from clotting, a small amount of an anticoagulant is in the needle. The doctor will then centrifuge your blood to separate the plasma. After that, the plasma is injected into multiple places on your scalp.

  4. PRP Treatment "I know that sounds painful and a little scary, but your doctor will first numb the area with a topical anesthetic or nerve blocker so the injections don't hurt." The entire procedure takes about two hours. Recovery is speedy. Following treatment, your scalp may appear slightly red, but this will subside within a few hours. Additionally, you might experience some scalp swelling for a few days. How many procedures are required? Three eight-weekly sessions of PRP treatment for hair loss make up a complete course. After the treatment, you should start to see new hair growth within four to six weeks. PRP does not have a long-term effect. To keep seeing results, you'll need to get maintenance treatments every six to twelve months. The best candidates for PRP therapy Androgenic alopecia, also known as male-pattern baldness and female-pattern baldness, is the most common type of hair loss. It may also be helpful for people who suffer from alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that causes clumps of hair to fall out, leaving round bald spots. If you suffer from lupus, a condition that causes scalp scarring, PRP therapy is less likely to be successful. Hair follicles typically cannot be reactivated following scarring.
