Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee (TPCC) • Interagency task force that ensures the coordination and development of a Government-Wide export promotion plane • Made up of seven agencies • Department of Commerce • Export – Import Bank • Overseas Private Investment Corporation • U.S. Trade and Development Agency • Small Business Administration • Department of State • Department of Agriculture

TPCC and Export Promotion • Focused on Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) • Main initiatives • Training • Marketing • Program Integration • Information Sharing • SMEs represent 97 percent of all exporters in United States ( National Export Initiative Report 2012. DOC) • Every additional dollar spent on export promotion yields a 40-to-1 return in increased export sales (World Bank Study 2006) • Major Trade Partners outspent United States in Trade Promotion 20-to-1 (The Council of State Governments Reports 2009)

Issue- Ineffective Coordination and Implementation • Lack of Coordination among involved agencies • Lack of common goals and objectives • Different priorities • Lack of Information sharing • Limitation in Export strategies • No program evaluation • No assessment process • Different method of analysis to track business activities
