  3. Navajo Tribe Traditions They made Jewelry They use sheep wool to make Winter clothes They had religious ceremonies

  4. What do we eat? The Navajo Indians eat animals, beans, squash, and corn. The vegetables and beans they eat are farmed by the Navajo Tribe.

  5. Where do we live? The Navajo Indians live in Hogans like the one you see in this picture. Hogans are made of packed mud or clay. They named the 5 sides of the Hogan Morning, Sunset, Darkness, Aragonite, and Heat Wave. Their tribe was from New Mexico.

  6. How Do We Dress? Women wear a “Squaw Dress” Men wear deaskin skirts and shirts They wear moccasins

  8. Contributions Contributed to war with Code Talkers 375 to 420 were trained as Code Talkers Contributed with Silversmithing 500 served as Marines for the US

  9. How Big is My Tribe? There were over 50,000 Navajo tribe members in New Mexico and other cities. Today, the Navajo Tribe Nation includes around 298,215 Navajo people.
