  1. GOD’S MISSION: Fill The Earth With His Glory “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14 ESV

  2. God’s Glory Is Embodied In Jesus Christ “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.” Heb. 1:3

  3. Our Mission: Glorify God by Filling Our Field with Jesus

  4. We fill our fields with Jesus by planting local bodies of Christ in every place and for every people group.

  5. And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself. Eph. 4:10

  6. Plant Jesus By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. I Cor. 3:10-11

  7. How Do We Bring Glory To God On Earth? “I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.” John 17:4

  8. How Do We Bring Glory To God On Earth? “By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” John 15:8

  9. As a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. Eph. 1:10 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. Eph. 1:21-22

  10. In whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. Eph. 2:21-22

  11. and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. Eph. 3:9-10

  12. That is why the Scriptures say, "When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.” Notice that it says "he ascended.” This clearly means that Christ also descended to our lowly world. Eph. 4: 8-9 NLT

  13. And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself. Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers Eph. 4: 10-11

  14. to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ... from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Eph. 4:12...16

  15. Vision: Give every person the very best chance to become a genuine follower of Christ and receive eternal life.

  16. 100X Strategy: Leverage our experience by starting a unique 3D Equipping church that discovers, develops and deploys the leaders to plant churches and equips other churches to do the same.

  17. A 3D Church: Discovers, develops, and deploy work crews to proclaim the gospel to unreached people and start new churches.

  18. Major goals of the churches we start: • Honor & worship the real Jesus of history and the Bible • Reach unreached men • Equip members live by the Bible

  19. Major goals of the churches we start: • Equip members build the church • Maximize opportunities for value shaping • Reproduce regularly in order to fill the GTA and beyond with Jesus.

  20. God’s Earth Filling Strategy Later Years Early years Reproductive years Faithful Frequent Fast

  21. Strategy (Features) Discovers, Develops and Deploys work crews that... Creates large group evangelistic discovery events that... Produces short term “plug and play” (tent) groups that... Establishes long-term 3D groups that... Discover, Develop, and Deploy uniquely gifted kingdom workers

  22. Many Have It Backwards They say small groups are for evangelism and large groups are for discipleship. • What did Jesus do? Paul? • What do we know about human nature? • Which setting can you best disciple someone? • How do people in most cultures process major decisions in life?

  23. Advantages Of This Strategy • Maximizes evangelism, esp. 1st yr • New Christian leader types are released early • Not need to slow evangelism • Apostle can focus on top and bottom of the funnel • Deep value shaping occurs

  24. Men like it It is working in difficult places Uses apprenticeship Uses church planting a tool for evangelism, discipleship Exponential potential

  25. Intended Tactics • Mass market to the ripe • Greenhouse atmosphere • Reproducible methods • On the job apprenticeship • Top and Bottom of funnel leadership focus

  26. Intended Tactics • Structure the churches around Ephesians 4:11

  27. Intended Tactics • Each church purpose to discover, develop, and deploy planters • Each church purposes to send out crews of 3-15 workers every year to plant • Innovate to make disciples of unreached men

  28. Key contemporary issue: The feminization of the church

  29. Theology for Men Proper view of Jesus Accurate view of heaven Build the Body of Christ

  30. How to Reach More Unreached Men

  31. “What then, brothers? What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up... Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.” I Cor. 14:26a, 29

  32. Innovations to Make Disciples of Unreached Men Start with men Major on Biblical truth Keep their attention Use man talk Less music and songs men

  33. Thoughts On Lots of Singing Most unreached men do not like a lot of it Most Christian men do not look like they are into it When the group is not singing with enthusiasm it communities the wrong message Men want to get to message, and they don’t want a long service

  34. Innovations to Make Disciples of Unreached Men • Challenge with a clear significant cause • Shoulder to shoulder friendship • Celebrate progress • Compete in giving honor • Keep them moving • Give them a clear path to leadership Tim. 3:1f

  35. Innovations to Make Disciples of Unreached Men • Men want to save, not be saved • Don’t use the word “church” • Let them ask questions • Let them evaluate & debate issues • Fun, food

  36. PLANT LIKE JESUSHow to Plant a Healthy Reproducing Church

  37. Who was the greatest church planter of all time? Who was the greatest church planter trainer of all time?

  38. Jesus An Apostle “Consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.... the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself....  And we are his house.” Heb. 3:1, 3, 6 ESV

  39. Jesus The Apostle

  40. Jesus The Builder

  41. “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rockI will build my church, and the gates of hellshall not prevail against it.” Matt. 16:18 ESV

  42. Build = Plant “He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation.” I Cor. 3:8-10 ESV

  43. Why Don’t We Typically View Jesus As A Church Planter? • Prevailing church paradigms • Focus on Pentecost 3. It would be embarrassing

  44. The “Stats” Of The Church Jesus Planted? • 1000’s preached to • 500 appeared to later • 120 called brethren, Acts 1:15 • 70 sent on a mission trip, Lk 10 • 12 apostles apprenticed, John 17

  45. Strategic Issues • Very slow conversion growth • Not reaching the established areas of well, men and singles • 61% women 39% men • 80%+ of churches are plateaued • Fewchurches are planting (5%) • Even fewer are producing planters

  46. Plant Like Jesus And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” Mark 1:17 ESV
