  2. Born in Stratford, Virginia January 19, 1807. He was offered leadership of the union army. No one knows why but instead he left to join the confederacy. General Robert E. Lee (confederate)

  3. He was born on April 27 1822, in Point Pleasant, Ohio. He commanded the army of Tennessee, Shiloh, and the Vicksburg Campaign. After the war he became a writer and later U.S. President. He died on July 23,1885. Lieutenant GeneralUlysses S. Grant (union)

  4. Major General James E.B. Stuart (confederate) • James was the most famous cavalry man. • He was a Lieutenant during the American Indian War. • He led his regiment through the 1st battle of Bull Run. • In 1864 was wounded in battle and died the next day.

  5. Born on December 27 1814. Led the California Column through Arizona, New Mexico, and West Texas. He was promoted to Major General U.S.A. March 13, 1865. He died on January 7, 1873. James Henry Carleton (union)

  6. Born March 16, 1822 He was a Major-General. He fought in The Second Battle of Bull Run. He commanded the Mississippi army. Died September 23, 1892. Major General John Pope (union)

  7. Daniel Butterfield was born on October 21, 1831. Received a medal of honor after the Seven Days War. Commanded the V Corps at Fredericksburg. After the war he became a Unofficial Ambassador. Died July 17 1901, in Cold Spring, NY. Daniel Butterfield (Union)

  8. General Joseph E. Johnston (Confederate) • Born February 3, 1809. • He became Lieutenant-Colonel of Cavalry in 1885. • He joined the Confederates in 1861. • Commanded in The Battle of Bull Run and Battle of Fair Oaks. • He died March 21, 1891.

  9. Born in Richmond, Va. On January 28, 1825. He Under Maj. Gen. James Longstreet during the Seven Days’ Campaign. He became Major General October 10, 1862 Died in Norfolk July 30, 1875. George Pickett (confederate)

  10. Born in 1818 in Columbus, Ohio. He fought in the second battle of bull run. He later became general Died in 1885. General Irvin McDowell (Union)
