  2. How films are funded • Lottery (UK): The BFI became the Lottery film funding distributer. The UK film council governed by 15 directors are funded by the National lottery. £160 million was paid to 900 films. • Private Investors: Private investors is another way for a film to be financed. However because of the high cost of films nowadays, investors can’t pay for the film and instead, spend £1,000 - £40,000 for low budget or for the equipment to be paid for. • Foreign Investment: Often UK film makers seek money from abroad such as US film studios to pay for their film to be made. They also can give location and equipment which can also bring in tourism.

  3. Continued… • Government: The Film Council is set up to take money from the government and pay for UK films. It distributes £27m from the government every year to support films. • Television: Television programs such as channel 4, spend 10% of its annual budget on films. Since 1982 it has help over 300 films be made.
