November 15 – 16, 2007, Humacao, Puerto Rico 2007 UPRH-PENN PREM Annual Meeting Idalia Ramos, University of Puerto Rico at Humacao, DMR 0353730 PREM faculty, students and Advisory Board met at Humacao for the 4th Annual Joint Meeting. The program included oral presentation by faculty, poster presentations by students and a discussion about the future of the Humacao PREM with the Advisory Committee.

PREM undergraduates model conformation of polymers around different structures Idalia Ramos, University of Puerto Rico at Humacao, DMR 0353730 Work done by PREM undergraduates in Computational Mathematics at UPRH: M. Merced, D. Velázquez & Y. Cruz with faculty advisors J. Sotero-Esteva (UPRH) and A. T. Johnson (PENN). Diagram with possible conformations of linear polymers Clusters from Principal Components Analysis (PCA) suggest mechanism for wrapping polymers around CNTs

PREM brings Materia Extraña to Puerto Rico October 25 – December 22, 2007, Casa Roig Museum, Humacao, prem.uprh.edu/materia NSF-DMR-0353730 Over 5,700 people from 61 towns in PR & 6 US States visited the Strange Matter (Materia Extraña) Exhibit in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Approximately 100 volunteers collaborated with the presentation that included guided tours and complementary talks and demonstrations.
