  8. Liðin tíð • Þegar við segjum sögu í liðinni tíð, þá notum við bæði imparfait og passé composé. • Vandinn er að vita hvora tíðina á að nota.

  9. Imparfait eða passé composé • Imparfait er notuð til að lýsa aðstæðum, umhverfi, ástandi, vana, því sem var að gerast. • Passé composé lýsir atburðum, athöfnum, sem hafa átt sér stað á ákveðnum tíma.

  10. Dæmi-1 • Hier soir, j’étais dans ma chambre avec des copains et on écoutait de la musique. Il était 11 heures quand le téléphone a sonné. Je suis allé(e) répondre, mais il n’y avait personne. Il y a eu quatre coups de téléphone comme ça. Bizarre, non !

  11. Dæmi-2 • Quand j’étais jeune, je faisait toujours du jogging. Je jouais au tennis, mais le 2 mars 1980, tout a changé : je suis tombé amoureux.
