  2. The problem • Teens are developing mental and social health problems caused by their excessive use of social media (Couts, 2011) • Rise in the amount of teens using social media (Pew Research Center, 2014) • Rise in the amount of time teens spend using social media sites (Neimer, 2012)

  6. Call to Action • Implement prevention and intervention programs • Informs parents & teens about the risks of social media • Engages schools to talk about the issue • Staff includes mental health professionals, communication experts, advocates and volunteers
