  2. Purpose • Become familiar with the format and functionality of TestNav 8 and its tools and item types. • Get suggestions on how to present to and practice the format and functionality of TestNav 8 with students.

TestNav 8 Features - Embedded for All Students Tool Bar and Navigation – White bar at the top • Navigation • Back page • Next page • Review • Flag • Pointer • Ruler (cm in 5th and 8th grade, inch in all grades) • Can also be used as line guide • Calculator (4 function for 5th grade, scientific for 8th grade) • Eliminate answer choice

  6. TestNav 8 Features - Embedded for All Students • Highlighter – built into cursor– select text and choose color • Drop Down • Magnifier • Zoom • Dependent on device • Computer uses Ctrl + and Ctrl – • Test Status bar – dark grey bar under white bar

TestNav 8 Accessibility Features – Embedded, but Must Be Requested Ahead of Time for Computer-based Administration • Text-to-speech (requires pre-assigned form – use for students who get oral script on TCAP) • Continue to play • Click to hear – CDE recommends students are taught to default to this

Accommodations - Must Be Requested Ahead of Time for Computer-based Administration • MUST have IEP, 504, or English Language Learner Plan • Selected by form • Color contrast • Text-to-speech with color contrast • Oral script ePATsamplers for text-to-speech and text-to-speech with color contrast is available on www.PearsonAccess.com/co
