  2. We live in digital era and in a globalized wold where we must find new ways to educate children (Battro,2004; Gardner,2004).

  3. Continuing in a personal vein, let me mention one highly promising tool for our times.Drawing on many years of research in constructionism and human skills, the nonprofit association One Laptop Per Child (OLPC), founded by Nicholas Negroponte in 2005.

  4. is providing low-cost and highly connected laptops, called XO, to millions of children in developing countries. These tools encourage and support the construction and sharing of knowledge and skills in the arts and sciences.

  5. The OLPC program promises to have considerable impact in the education of disable children as well.

  6. What strikes me is that a new laptop has some key properties related to MI. The XO screen shows several icons: among them a palette for drawing and painting, a drum for music, a copybook for writing, a globe for communicating using the internet. • To be sure, the desing of the XO was not consciouly inspired by MI, but it turned out to be a vivid representation of the basic potentials of the human mind as described by MI. • The OLPC project hopes to realize this educational potential throughout the World.
