What is an interactive notebook? • A personalized, clear, student-created textbook and study tool. • A working portfolio -- all of your notes, handouts, classwork, reflections, etc. -- in one convenient spot. • The puzzle piece to being super organized and prepared. teachers.henrico.k12.va.us/fairfield/saunders.../interactive+notebook.ppt http://www.fotosearch.com/clip-art/organized.html

  7. Interactive Notebook Requirements 5. No ripped out pages or torn corners. 6. Your interactive notebook will be graded every 6 weeks, so take pride in your work. 1. This notebook will be used every day, You will be able to keep it in the classroom unless you need it to study for a test. If it goes home, it must come back on the very next school day. 2, You will be required to copy down notes on days you are absent. Please remember to ask for the notes. This will be your responsibility. 3. All pages will be dated and numbered. We will do this as we go along. No need to number pages ahead of time. 4. No doodling that doesn’t relate to notes.

  8. The Set Up Front Cover You will need a 5 subject spiral notebook. Decorate the front coverusing photos of you, past and present. Show how you have changed from when you were a baby. (No 3-D objects please.) Be sure to include your first name. Once you create your photo collage, cover your collage with clear packing tape. This will keep your pictures in place. Have fun and it’s okay if Mom or Dad want to help. But of course, you can do it by yourself. Mrs. B’s daughter is 23 years old, but if she were in the 6th grade, her interactive notebook might look like this.

  9. 2. Next make an author page on the very first page inside notebook. See sample. Include: 1. Title (Author’s Page) 2. Your name 3. Subject 4. School year 5. Class period 6.Then use your talent to decorate it.

  10. Divide and label as shown in sample. Use a ruler to help you stay neat. Count the next 8 pages and paper clip those 9 pages together. (We will use those pages to add to the index over the course of the year.) Table of Contents 3. Table of Contents Use the page directly after the Title Page. Date Topic Page

  11. 4.Now go to the very end of the notebook and go to the last two pocket dividers. Next to the last pocket divider Very last pocket divider label JOURNAL.label VOCABUALRY.
