NTA NET 2019 EXAM Updates

The National Eligibility Test (NET), also known as UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET, is a test to determine eligibility for college and university level lecturership and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals. It aims to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in teaching professions and research. On behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the test for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges.<br><br>Until July 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the UGC NET exam but from December 2018 onwards, NTA is conducting the UGC National Eligibility Test. As per the press-release by Indian Government, the exam would be conducted twice a year, and it will be conducted in an online mode instead of offline mode

  3. 2 LATEST ON NTA UGC NET EXAM Well first thing first! What has changed from last few exams if you compare upcoming exam with the previous exams? UGC NET EXAM PATTERN There will computer-based exam(CBT) consists of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions. There will be a break of 30 minutes between them. From December 2018 onwards, NTA or National Testing Agency will regulate UGC NET. CBSE will no longer hold the National Eligibility Test. The examination will be conducted twice a year in December and July.   No. of Papers: two papers. No. of Questions: Total 150 questions will be asked in NET (Paper 1: 50 Question and Paper 2: 100 Questions). All questions are compulsory to attempt. Subjects: Paper I will consist General Aptitude Questions and Paper 2 will have questions related to the subject selected by candidates. Medium of Paper: Hindi and English are the only options to attempt UGC NET. Choice for paper medium can be exercised at the time of filling the form.    Negative Marking: NTA will not be not following negative marking scheme in UGC NET. Type of Situation Correct Answer Incorrect Answer Unanswered Marks Allocated + 2 marks 0 mark 0 mark In UGC NET Paper I: The questions will be generic in nature, intending to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate In UGC NET Paper II: This will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. All the questions of Paper II will be compulsory. It is suggested to thoroughly revise all the topics of Bachelors and Masters syllabus. Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.
