  1. Central Govt. Allocates Funding for Infrastructure Growth in Gujarat The centre would give Gujarat Rs 12,600 crore for building highways, bridges, and logistics parks: Gadkari, Union Minister According to a formal announcement, construction on the highway project started in 2021 and has since been completed to a level of about 21%. A total of Rs 12,600 crore, stated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, will be provided by the Central Government to the State of Gujarat for the development of additional infrastructure, including highways, bridges, and logistic parks. According to him, this cash will include Rs 6,000 crore for the creation of multimodal logistics parks in the state and Rs 1,000 crore for the building of road over or under bridges (ROBs) on roads other than national highways. After seeing the ongoing construction for the future Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, the Minister for Road Transport and Highways spoke with reporters at Kavitha village near Ahmedabad. He was in Gujarat to assess how various highway projects being carried out in the state by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) were progressing. Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister of Gujarat, and Gadkari had a high-level meeting concerning the state’s ongoing highway projects on Wednesday in Gandhinagar.

  2. “A further Rs 3,000 crore would be allocated for the construction of district roads, municipal roads, and state highways. To develop ROBs and RUBs on state roads, we will contribute Rs 1,000 crore under the Setu Bandhan scheme, the minister announced. “We will allot a total of 6,000 crore for multi-modal logistic parks. Thus, we will be giving Gujarat a total of Rs 12,600 billion. During a review meeting on Wednesday in Gandhinagar, I shared this information with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel,” Gadkari added. He stated that efforts were being made to finish the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, which will connect Ahmedabad with the forthcoming Special Investment Area and Dholera Smart City, by January 2024. The motorway will have a length of 109 kilometres. According to a press statement issued by the government, construction on the highway began in 2021, and there has been roughly 21% of the work finished so far. According to what Gadkari informed the press, the basis of the roadway is being prepared with around 20 lakh metric tonnes of solid waste generated within the confines of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and 25 lakh metric tonnes of ash produced by thermal power plants. “Because we require a substantial quantity of clay to build highways, I have made a suggestion to the Chief Minister of Gujarat that we dig the canals, lakes, and ponds in the state for free and use the clay that we obtain from those excavations for our highway construction,” he continued. Before beginning his work inspecting highways, Gadkari made a stop at the “Sparsh Mahotsav” event, which was held on the GMDC ground in Ahmedabad and was organised by the Jain community.
