  1. Know the Different Types of Greenhouses Normally, different types of greenhouses are classified according to their shapes. The types include, flat arch, gable, saw-tooth, raised dome, tunnel and skillion. Let’s know few more types. -Multi-span structures The surface area of multi-span greenhouses is smaller compared to single span greenhouses that are of equivalent production capacity. This structure helps in lessening the heat and also in saving energy. These structures are more robust and also face less damage due to weather conditions. The greenhouse technology in India is opting for such greenhouses for crop productions. -Shade houses

  2. In these, the structures are covered with woven material that’s allows sunlight, moisture and air circulation. This cover also helps in reduced light when required and protects the crops from severe weather conditions. The height of the structure may vary depending on the type of the crop. -Screen houses These structures are covered with insect screens that keep the pests away. They also provide protection from severe weather conditions. These types are often used in hot tropical regions. -Crop top structures These structures have no walls but only roof material, which can either be plastic, glass or insect screens. -Classifying greenhouses These are technology based investment. These structures have the capacity to control the environment within. Many plant phenomics facility are classified greenhouses where they can test and analyse the crops for studies. -Low technology greenhouses These structures are considered to have significant production, but come with some environmental limitations. However, they are the cost-effective entry to the industry.

  3. Few other types are Medium technology greenhouses and High technology greenhouses. In High technology greenhouses plant phenomics is easier as it offers the environment control and accurate crop analysis.
