  1. LWV II - Spring Newsletter Website: www.LWV2.com NEW Email: LWV2board@yahoo.com Announcing Your 2009 Board- President- Brenda Vanderheyden Vice President- Steve Slunick Director – Greg Stewart Treasurer- Colleen Fitch Secretary- Melissa Smith Letter from the President: We would like to welcome new Board members Melissa Smith and Colleen Fitch. Melissa lives on Pine Needle Court and was one of the first homeowners to purchase a home in LWVII. Colleen has previously served on the Board, and after a two year break, has once again volunteered to serve our community. Also, congratulations to Board member Greg Stewart, who was re-elected for another 2 year term. On behalf of all LWVII residents, our sincere thanks to departing Board members Chris Cook and Greg Covert for their contributions and years of service. In addition to handling normal business, the 2009 Board will be focusing on some key issues that were brought up by homeowners at the Annual meeting. These issues include: better communication, controlling expenses so we do not need to raise dues, and more homeowner participation in determining special projects. The new website (LWV2.com), will allow the Board to provide more frequent and open communication with the homeowners. We will be utilizing the website to post newsletters, publish updates from monthly Board meetings, and publish financial data. The Board is also collecting email addresses in order to notify homeowners of neighborhood alerts through email blasts. Please visit the website to find out what’s happening in the neighborhood. We welcome all comments and suggestions. What’s New? Current information can be found on our site. What’s Coming? Spring Cleanup & Flower planting day May 30th Your Opinion Matters! Have a suggestion or comment? Please email us. Community Service: Know a high school student that needs Community Service hours to meet their graduation requirement? We have work. We can provide a letter of service for their portfolio. Email! We wish to make Email blasts our most common means of communication. If you have not done so already, please provide your email address.

  2. Bi-Laws: Please review your bi-laws. If you do not have a copy, a copy can be found on the website. The bi-laws cover items such as common area upkeep and use. Esthetics of your property, building regulations, pet regulations, storing of items on your property, fences and more. Pine Needle Drive Island Enhancement Asking for your Opinion…. Would you like to see additional landscape Improvement plans for the common areas? Added tree and low maintenance plantings? Would you be willing to contribute a fee towards these improvements? We would look at a phased approach. Based on input we will determine action. Please email us with your opinion on fee’s. Title email “landscape”. National Business Continuity Week is June 21-27th – Take this opportunity to review your family escape plan with your children, check smoke alarm batteries and replace your fire extinguishers. Many of the Fire departments will be running events & specials. Pet Ownership! Please be a responsible pet owner. Clean-up your pet’s waste, keep your pet on a leash or utilize a fence of some sort. Please do not let your pets run loose. Common Area’s: It’s our responsibility! These areas are important to the look and feel of our neighborhood. See a weed, pick a weed. These are not pet wasteland’s nor are they storage and dump sites. Discussions as to possible improvement of the areas are forthcoming. Boats/Campers/Trailers: Please respect the by-laws and do not store these items at your residence for an extended period of time. Annual Due’s: 100% of the 2009 dues have been paid. The invoices for 2010 will go out in January. Thank you!

  3. Budget: • The 2009 budget estimates and forecasts have been updated. A current copy can be found on the website. • Flower Planting day at the entrance: • Saturday May 30th, bright and early. • This was Lake Waldon Drive, the entrance to Phase II in 1994. Downed Trees: There are a number of downed trees throughout the neighborhood. The Board will be taking care of the fallen trees in the common areas. Trees that originated from a homeowners property must be taken care of by the homeowner. Clean-up Day planned: We are looking to reinstate the Subdivision Clean-up Days of Old. We need your help! We have picked May 30th at 10am, with the rain out date as the 31st. The meeting location will be the entrance to Phase II on Lake Waldon Drive. If you plan to attend, come dressed to get dirty. Bring gloves and lawn tools. We will have general cleanup activities awaiting your arrival. This activity will help us in our mission to not raise due’s. If you have a pick-up truck and do not mind hauling some items to the DPW, please have it ready. For those volunteers that help to beautify the neighborhood, we will have a small “cookout of appreciation” at noon that day. Flower planters from entrance also welcome to the cookout. Volunteer Appreciation (community service hours) letters will be available that day for student’s. Hope to see you there!
