  15. Why Spanish? Spanish in the United States • The population of Spanish-speakers (both native and bilingual) is projected to grow 45% over the next two decades, adding 12.4 million Spanish-speakers. By 2025, the number of Spanish-speaking Americans will surpass 40 million.
