  2. Metaphysics – • What is knowable - What is TRUTH. • This is the classic approach to the formal systems of philosophy. • In place of the classic Metaphysical approach to understanding philosophies and their different approaches to finding "TRUTH".

  3. Problem Solving Approach • Some have begun to use a problems solving approach to search for • what is knowable.

  4. Basic Knowledge • Some use Ontology – • the probing inquiry into the basic knowledge of knowing and the known.

  5. Search for the Ultimate Truth • Epistemology - How do I find the ultimate TRUTH Search for the ultimate truth is the epistomology….. • or just to have the knowledge to know that I found it.

  6. Axiology – • search for Value - what is the ultimate nature of value. • Value may be expressed as either Ethics or Aesthetic • Ethics are founded in morals • Aesthetics are expressed as either • Beauty defined by the viewer or • Logic is defined Deductive Reasoning or as Specific to General Logic - Specific to GeneralInductive Reasoning - General to Specific

  7. Philosophy: • Examine each philosophy using the following format: • Definition • Major Proponents • Special Identification/Traits • Education/Learning Theory attached to this • Philosophy • Implications to Educational application • Implications to specific instruction/learning
