A brief guide to demister pads

Demister pads are generally of two types - upload type, and download type. In the upload type, the opening for air outlet or the flange is above the pad. While in the download type the opening is found below the level of the pad. Given the nature of industries, they are installed in, corrosion of the pad filaments is very natural and expected. Proper cleaning methods have to be applied which shall prevent the pores from getting clogged and shall increase the shelf life.
