  2. Problem/Need • Russell Elementary students need more meaningful opportunities to use Internet tools while learning content based standards • Russell Elementary teachers need professional developments that focuses on the implementation of Web 2.0 Tools in the elementary classroom setting

Project Plan • Create a needs assessment survey based on the implementation of the Internet in the classroom • Research and select Web 2.0 Tools that I would enhance and engage during the professional development training sessions • Develop material to supplement each training session • Upload content to Russell’s Blackboard site to be used as a collaborative tool to use as references • Facilitate training sessions

  5. Evaluation • Monitor discussions during training sessions • Informal observations as needed • Follow-up training to teachers on a need be basis • Post-Survey to determine from needs assessment

Description of CapstoneMaterials and Implementation • Each session… • Presentations were created to introduce the Web 2.0 Tool • Handouts/Tutorials were created to explain step-by-step procedures • Lesson Plans were created to show how to implement the Web 2.0 Tool • A total of six one hour sessions were implemented from September 3, 2013 through October 11, 2013

Reflection • I accomplished my goals: teach others how to implement Web 2.0 Tools within the classroom to engage learning and increase student achievement • The Capstone Project was beneficial because I was allotted the opportunity to take on a technology leadership role and collaborate with my colleagues about technology use. • The Capstone Project impacted faculty development and student learning because the teacher increased their technological content and applied their new knowledge into their instruction • For the next step, I would like to continue to promote the use of We 2.0 Tools, by continue to implement APPY Hour
