  2. Agenda • Welcome • Director’s Comments • Secretary’s Report • Approval of Minutes from previous meeting • Treasurer’s Report • Committee Chair Reports/Announcements • Next Band Booster Meeting-Called Meeting

  3. Director’s Report • July 15-18 – Pre Band Camp (9:00-5:00) – All students attend. You will need money for lunch. Buses will run to mall. Auxiliary will rehearse from 9:00-8:30 this week!!!! • July 19 – PICTURE DAY – THIS IS MANDATORY!!!! New members will not yet have their marching shoes. You will need to wear black socks and tennis shoes. Report time is 7:30am at the gym. • July 22-25 – Band Camp (8:00-8:30) – All students attend. You will need money for lunch. Dinner is provided. No one will be allowed to leave for dinner. • July 28 – Band Talent Show and Dance (7:00-10:00) – This is not mandatory. Chance to unwind after camp. We need donations of drinks and food if you are willing.

  4. Director’s Report Cont. • August 5 – Ignite 2023! All sophomores, juniors and seniors will play for Freshman Orientation. We will play from 5:00-5:30 • August 7 – First day of school

  5. Director’s Report WHAT DO I NEED FOR BAND CAMP? • Tennis Shoes….no other footwear will be allowed on the field. This is for your safety and to use proper technique when marching. • Shorts, t-shirt – light colors • Hat and Sunglasses • Sunscreen • Flip Folder and 3 ring binder for your music. You will want to buy some extra pages as well. Toads and Teacups will have everything you need. They will try to sell you a lyre. The only ones that need a lyre are Clarinets, Alto and Tenor Saxes, Bass Clarinets, Bari Saxes. NO BRASS PLAYER NEEDS A LYRE!!! • Make sure you have reeds, valve oil, and A PENCIL.

  6. IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE FALL • The first day of school every student will receive a class syllabus and calendar with dates for the fall. Parents, you will need to sign this and return the second day of school. • We practice after school • Mondays until 5:00pm • Tuesday and Thursdays until 6:00pm • Percussion and Auxiliaries may have sectionals on Mondays until 6:00pm • The weeks of marching contests we will practice Monday-Thursday until 6:00pm. Wednesday we will release at 5:00pm

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE FALL • August 17th– Future Bridgemen Auxiliary Camp (9:00-4:00) • SEPTEMBER 21st – DRIVE ONE 4UR SCHOOL (Huge Event!!!!) • This is chance for you to make big money for your student account. Sponsored by our friends at Langdale Ford. $20 for every test drive. Time is from 9:00-4:00. We will need parent volunteers for registration and to cook. • SEPTEMBER 28th– Contest #1 (Heard County High School) This will be an overnight trip – Please keep this weekend clear. • OCTOBER 5th– Honeybee Parade and Contest #2 (Tift County High School) – Please keep this weekend clear. • OCTOBER 19th – Battle on the Border • YES WE PERFORM AT ALL FOOTBALL GAMES!!!!!

PAYMENT SCHEDULE • This was laid out in the packet that you received back at our Rising 9th Grade Meeting in February • New Members (DUE AT UNIFORM FITTINGS IN APRIL) • $75.00 Payable to White Weddings – Tux Shirt and Tux Pants • $125.00 Payable to LHS Band Boosters – Vest, Bow Tie, Band Shoes, Spirit Apparel • ALL MEMBERS • $100.00 – 1st Band Fee Payment Payable to LHS Band Boosters (Due May 12th) • $100.00 – 2nd Band Fee Payment Payable to LHS Band Boosters (Due June 15th) • $100.00 – 3rd Band Fee Payment Payable to LHS Band Boosters (Due July 16th)

PAYMENT SCHEDULE • IF BAND FEES ARE NOT RECEIVED IN FULL BY TONIGHT, A LATE FEE OF $25.00 WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR ACCOUNT. • The reason for this is a bulk of our ordering is done before school ever starts. We will be put in a hole. • WHETHER BAND FEES ARE PAID WILL DETERMINE WHO GETS A SPOT ON THE FIELD!!!!!!

  13. TRIP PAYMENTS • We will begin taking payments for our trip during the 2020/2021 school year in September of this year. While we do not know exactly where we will be going we like to start taking payments early to make it easier on all our families. • We should know where we will be going by the end of October. • More information will be forthcoming in August.

  14. BUS DRIVERS STILL NEEDED • If you are interested in obtaining you bus driver’s license, please see Chris Buescher at the conclusion of tonight’s meeting. We could still use several more to get us through the year and moving on into next year.

  15. WATER FOR AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSALS • We are in desperate need for help with water during after school rehearsals. If you are able to be at the school around 2:45 to help get water set up, please see Christine Johnson tonight at the meeting.

  16. PROGRAM ADS DUE BY JULY 19th @ 5:00pm • The absolute deadline for all ads is Friday, July 19th at 5:00pm. There is no grace period for this. It must be in our hand. If you need any of the forms please see Casey Thompson tonight!!!

  17. DCI SHOW A HUGE SUCCESS • Thanks to everyone who volunteered in helping with the DCI Show. It was a huge success and could not have happened without our students and parents.

  18. DISCOUNT CARDS ARE AVAILABLE • Becky Parr has Discount Cards available tonight. • Card is $10/sale and students receives $5 credit. • Sheets are also available for pre sales if preferred.

  19. GOLF CART RAFFLE • Golf Cart Raffle tickets are available tonight. Golf Cart is on display at Austin’s Steakhouse. Tickets can also be purchased at Austin’s as well.
