  1. Grade 9-12 Be the Change The evening hours of Thursday, 24th March saw the Dubai Festival City Square echoing the messages set forth by Street Plays. Our School presented a captivating play ‘Be the Change’. Parent Orientation Our students are characterized by a variety of unique and distinctive positive attributes that bear further considerations. The School, hence, detects and responds to even the most subtle expectations the students place on themselves. Parents and teachers, thus, took part in an innovative meeting which was a facilitation to the beginning of good tidings for 2011-2012. Leading the orientation day, our Principal Dr. AnindaChatterji took charge of the exemplary process, where parents can have an open communication with the school. Hand outs on ‘ How to maximize performance’, ‘Pick up your study skills’‘Way to improve concentration’, ‘Top six anti-distraction tips’, ‘ A helping hand which parents can do’ and ‘ Time management’ were given to the students. Parents left the venue, much convinced after having met the teachers and the mentors of their wards.

  2. ELECTION The students of Grades VIII to XII were exposed to real election atmosphere where the school carried out it’s election for Vice-captains of the the various houses. It was a real fair deal. The students were briefed on on the ballot system and each house had a ballot box . Prior to the election day, the candidates were given opportunities to run their campaign by promoting themselves with posters and badges. The elected leaders were: • Mars - Vigneswari M • Neptune –SreyoshiGuha • Saturn –AshvriyaThapa • Jupiter –AbhinayaRavichandran Investiture Ceremony OOEHS Students perceive themselves as leaders. They look forward to increased levels of responsibility and to employ their leadership skills towards making a difference in this world. During the Oath taking ceremony, the elected leaders took a formed pledge to carry out the duties assigned to them with sincerity and efficiently. The Oath was administered by the Principal and that was followed by the presentation of the badges. Our leaders are the Head girl-NishaMariam Johnson, President Student Council-SwatiMurali. Sports Captain-Jewel Boniface, Asst. Head girl-PrateekshaPrakashKamath, student Council Secretary -AmataBoban and Vice-Captain Sports-NavneetKaur. We also have Captains and Vice- captains for the 4 houses and they received their badges from the respective house mistresses. The members of the Student Council received their badges from the Advisor. In his inspiring speech, Dr FarooqWasil- the Executive Principal and Director of Asian Schools Gems urged the leaders to lead by examples and to preserve the discipline and decorum of the School, thereby respecting the values of the institution.

  3. SheikhaFathima Award The quest for Scholastic success dictates nearly everything for NishaMariam Johnson who is the winner of SheikhaFathima Award 2011. She received a trophy and a scholarship entitling her for free education during the current academic year. UAE NATIONAL BRAIN O’ BEE 2011 (5 June 2011) KunchayGayathri of 12B secured the second position in the Brain O’ Bee quiz on neuroscience for high school students held at DPS Sharjah . photo Inter School Symposium On ‘The World Environment Day’, The Indian Excellent Private School had organized an Inter-school Symposium on ‘Deforestation and Climate Change Mitigation’. Our girls , VrundaAtul Shah SndShradhashetty bagged the first position in the junior category . Vrunda was also declared The Best Speaker.

Grade 9-12 Eco-Code Competition Steffy Anna Annian of Grade 10 E is the proud recipient of the 2nd prize in the Eco Code Competition for her wonderful sketch on the theme ‘Climatic Change’ held at Knowledge Village where ninteen other schools participated. OUR OWN RECORDS CENT PERCENT RESULTS OUR own girls are by and large top achievers academically. The experience at school and their productivity have made them goal-oriented people. Meet our super students.

  5. ANNUAL PRIZE DAY (27 and 28 June) The immense stature with which the annual prize day exceeded all expectations proved a milestone move . A highly coordinated Eco-dance (Grade V and VI), a Design Show , Orchestra and Exhibition proved grandiosity at it’s height . The first surprise was the annual report which was presented in the form of a documentary film . It was a proud moment for OUR OWN to premier it’s first orchestra which had eighty-two musicians. The renditions where ‘Green Sleeves’, ‘Country Garden’ and ‘No Matter What’. Our last number was from ‘The Pirates of the Carribean’–a breathtaking and a soul stirring composition. The academic and endowment awards were given to the highest scorers in the Board Exams and thirteen teachers were honoured for their outstanding work and commitment to the course of education.

  6. Pulse Activities Body Language Dress to impress Table Tennis Ann Mary Shibu & Suman Sanjay ,Nandana & Aishwarya made the school proud by securing the 2nd position in the Inter-school Table Tennis Tournament , which was part of the sports festival conducted by The Indian Hugh School Dubai.

  7. Table Tennis Nationals 2011 On 3rd October 2011 the Our Own Sharjah Table Tennis team under 19 was qualified for the CBSE Nationals 2011. About a hundred schools had participated. Our girls managed to reach the quarter finals and grabbed the 12th position in their group. It was good learning experience for the entire team. Basketball Our Basket Ball team played against Winchester School beating them by 19 points (36-17). In the match played against OOEHS Dubai , we defeated them by 19 points (39-20) and secured the 3rd position Our Players are Aiman Khan , Ashna Gupta , MalavikaMenon, SimranMehra , AthiraVishwanath , Megan Edward ,SanjanaGanesh , Danielle Pareira ,Kimberly O’Conner , Leanne Pimenta and AleefiaArun.
