  1. FEBRUARY 2014 BREAKTHROUGH REALITY OF REDEMPTION Pastor Ambrose Nyangao

  2. The Story

  3. The door that God prepared from long before the world was made was the door of redemption. Adam and Eve were created with this door already in place. • When the serpent deceived Eve and she ate of the fruit, the Lord in judging the serpent said that the ‘I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers, he will crush your head, and you will strike his heal [Gen 3:15].”

  4. This began the flow of God’s plan to bring redemption to that which had been lost in the Garden of Eden. • Through the many sacrifices in the Old Testament, the preparation towards the coming Sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ was practiced. • At the cross, the Lord Christ became the ultimate sacrifice. His blood was shed and the door to our redemption was opened. • The Apostle Paul put it this way, “He became sin for us who knew no sin that we may become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.”

  5. Redemption story is the Lord’s story to bring us back to the place of fellowship that we had before the rebellion of Adam. • Only God could make it happen. • This was God’s breakthrough reality happening in our lives. • Jesus Himself said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life [John 3:16]

  6. This is your season of redemption. • If you have never invited the Lord Jesus into your life acknowledging that He is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead, you can do it today. • If you have done this already, you can rejoice in the fact that this redemption is not just the door into your inheritance, but it is also the key to your inheritance. • You are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ.

  7. The Word

  8. Eph 1:7—In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. • Gal 3:13—Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” • Gal 3:14—He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

  9. Heb 9:22—And without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness • Col 1:19-20—For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross. • Isa 53:6—We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way, and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. • II Cor 5:21—God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

  10. The declarations

  11. We decree and declare that Christ is the redeeming sacrifice that brings God into our situation. Through Him we are reconciled to the heavenly Father • We decree and declare that the breakthrough realities that are ours are made possible through the redemptive work of God in Christ Jesus. • We decree and declare that this redemption has given us a right standing with the Lord God almighty. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. We are justified by Him through faith.

  12. We decree and declare that this redemption has lifted us in Christ. We have been made alive with Christ, raised up with Him and made to sit with Him in the heavenly places. We have become God’s workmanship in Christ. • We decree and declare that all that the enemy had against us was nailed upon the cross and that through the shed blood the Lord triumphed over the enemy and made a spectacle of Him. We have been purchased out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light • We decree and declare that because God is for us, no one can be against us. If God did not spare His Son but gave Him up for us all, why will He not with Him [now that we are redeemed] give us all things?

  13. The Reflections

  14. Redemption is God amazing story of grace. John Newton wrote the song that said, “Amazing grace how sweet the sound/ that saved a wretch like me/ I once was lost, but now am found/ was blind but now I see.” • Redemption is God’s awesome plan of rescue. We were condemned to die in Adam. Then God made a way where there seemed to be no way. He sent His Son to be the substitute for us. He put on Jesus the iniquity of us all. When Jesus experienced the full blow of the penalty of sin and death, now God was free to justify the ungodly. • Redemption is God’s blessed expression of divine love. We are told that God demonstrates His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. His love gave up His Son into the depths of judgment in hell that we may receive the forgiveness of sins.

  15. Redemption is God’s open door into fellowship with Him. Through the blood we have access into the presence of God. The veil of partition was torn in the temple when Christ cried out that ‘it is finished.’ God came out of the Holy of Holies to embrace humanity back into fellowship with Him. • Redemption is God’s passion to reach the lost. If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has passed away behold the new has come. We have received the ministry of reconciliation. We plead with all who will hear, ‘Be reconciled to God.’ We have become ambassadors for Christ. The door is wide open. We can come and be saved from the penalty of sin and death. • Redemption is God’s mandate for His believers to reign with Him in this life. We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us and gave Himself for us. Greater is He that is in us than he who is in the world. No weapon that is fashioned against us will prosper. We have been declared the righteousness of God. This is our platform to reign with Christ in this life. Receive this, it is your portion.

  16. The Prayer

  17. Heavenly Father, we give you thanks and glory for all that you have done for us all because of the redemption that is ours in Christ Jesus. You looked for a way to bring us back to yourself. • Through the shed blood of your Son Jesus, we have been redeemed and justified before you. We can now walk with you in fellowship and reign with you in this life in Christ. • We have become a brand new people.

  18. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God. We have been purchased with the precious eternal blood of Christ. • Thank you for this eternal redemption that has caused us to sit with Christ in the heavenly places and given us access into the inheritance that is ours in Christ. • This day we shall arise and shine for our Light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon us.

  19. AMEN!
