  1. Kota Stone Flooring: Process and Specifications Kota stone is a type of limestone that is found in the Kota district of Rajasthan, India. Kota stone is a popular natural stone used for flooring in India. It is known for its durability, versatility, and affordability. Here are the process and specifications for Kota stone flooring:

  2. 1.Surface Preparation: •The surface where the Kota stone flooring is to be installed should be cleaned thoroughly, removing any dirt, dust, or debris. •It should be ensured that the surface is even, free from cracks, and properly leveled. 2.Measurement and Layout: •Measure the area where the Kota stone flooring is to be installed and calculate the number of tiles required. •Plan the layout to ensure proper alignment and minimize cutting of the tiles. Consider the direction of natural light, traffic flow, and aesthetic preferences. 3.Cutting and Shaping: •Kota stone tiles are usually available in standard sizes, but if required, they can be cut into specific shapes and sizes using appropriate cutting tools. •The edges of the tiles can be chamfered or beveled for a more finished look. 4.Laying the Tiles: •Apply a layer of cement mortar or adhesive on the prepared surface using a notched trowel. •Place the Kota stone tiles on the mortar/adhesive, pressing them firmly and ensuring they are properly aligned. •Use a rubber mallet to tap the tiles gently, ensuring they are firmly fixed in place and there are no air gaps. •Maintain consistent spacing between tiles using tile spacers. 5.Grouting: •Once the tiles are set, allow them to dry and cure for a specific period according to the manufacturer’s instructions. •Mix a grout of the desired color and consistency. •Apply the grout between the tiles using a grout float, pressing it into the gaps and ensuring they are completely filled.

  3. •Clean off any excess grout from the tile surface using a damp sponge. 6.Finishing: •After the grout has dried, clean the entire surface to remove any remaining grout haze or residue. •Polish the Kota stone tiles using a buffing machine or polishing pads to enhance their natural shine and Kota Stone Design. •Apply a sealant or polish to protect the stone and improve its longevity. Specifications of Kota stone flooring: •Kota stone is available in various thicknesses, typically ranging from 20mm to 35mm. •The standard sizes of Kota stone tiles are usually 2’x2′, 2’x1′, and 1’x1′. Custom sizes can also be obtained. •Kota stone has a natural greenish-blue color, although it may vary slightly. •The stone has a fine-grained and uniform texture. •It is known for its high compressive strength and low water absorption, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. •Kota stone is resistant to abrasion, chemicals, and weathering. •The flooring can be given various finishes, such as natural, honed, polished, or brushed, depending on the desired look. It’s important to note that the specific process and specifications may vary depending on the project requirements and the recommendations of the manufacturer or contractor involved.
