  2. layout of presentation • Course Objective • Text Books & Reference Books • Main topics to be covered • Weightage • Grading Policy • Assignments • Data repository

  3. Course Objective: • Develop a good understanding about Signals and Systems • Various Signal Transformations • Would help develop expertise to model, analyze and process signals as it occurs in different domains.

  4. Text Books & Reference Books: • Signals And Systems by Alan V. OppenHeim • Signals And Systems – Continuous and Discrete by Rodger E. Ziemer, William H. Tranter, D. Ronald Fannin • Signal and Systems an introduction by Leslie Balmer • Signal and System by Simon Haykin • Signals And Systems – Analysis Using Transform Methods and MATLAB by M.J. Roberts

  5. Main Topics to be Covered: • Signals And Systems – General Overview • Linear Time Invariant Systems • Fourier Series Representation • Fourier Series Transform • Time and Frequency Characteristics • Sampling

  6. Main Topics to be Covered: • Laplace Transform • Z Transform • Linear Feedback Systems NOTE: All highlighted items are core components of course. Others are optional and would be covered based on time availability

  7. Weightage • Quizzes 10% • One Hour Tests 30 % • Assignments 05% • Term paper 05-10% • Final Test 45-50%
