Closed Reading • I used NPR’s “Demolished” as my close reading. • The content of “Demolished” involves a retrospective and a overview of the community that lives in public housing in poverty ridden Chicago. • The design uses black and white pictures from different time periods, as well as contemporary times. Maps, photographs and coloring for effect are used to tell the story.

The Interactivity is limited to the slide show aesthetic and the different images that are used throughout the piece. • The components use clickable slideshow arrows, photos, maps and anecdotes from the local community to drive the story along. • The subject experience is very immersive in the way the different elements in the story combine to tell the narrative. It’s very informative and gives you insights into a lifestyle that may be alien to the viewer. Close Reading
