  2. ABOUT ME! I have two wonderful children that attend Farmington Elementary School. Cole is in the 4th grade and Ella is in the 2nd grade. They keep us very busy! I have been working in the education field since 2004. Prior to that, I worked in the child support and social work fields. Obviously, I love working with children! 

EDUCATION / HIGHLY QUALIFIED Bachelor of Arts in Political Science; Minor in English: University of TN Martin in 2000 Master of Arts in Elementary Education: University of Memphis in 2004 Master’s +45/Endorsement in Administration & Supervision: 2010 HIGHLY QUALIFIED/ENDORSED: Language Arts 7-12 History 7-12 All subjects K-6

  4. 6th grade discipline • E = 0-1 Conduct MarksConsequences: • S = 2-4 Conduct Marks Verbal Warning • N = 5-6 Conduct Marks Conduct Mark • U = 7+ Conduct Marks Conduct Mark + Parent Notification Conduct Mark + Parent Notification Conduct Mark + Detention Conduct Mark + Parent Conference Conduct Mark + Office Referral *Severe behavior results in immediate referral to the office (ie: physical confrontations)

A DAY IN LANGUAGE ARTS *DAILY TCAP REVIEW (New question everyday) DAILY GRAMMAR PRACTICE (DGP): Monday – Thursday / LATIN ROOT WORDS: Friday (Each day is worth 20 points.) *INTERACTIVE READING / GRAMMAR NOTEBOOK (BLACK COMPOSITION NOTEBOOK, SCISSORS, GLUE) This will help students keep literary & grammar terms straight.) *NOVEL STUDIES – identify literary elements in each story

E-READERS (Nook, Kindle) • Students may use an electronic reader (Kindle, Nook, etc..) for specific LA novel studies if they agree to the following rules: • E-readers are only used for books assigned in LA class. • Internet and games will not be accessed during school. • HMS is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. • E-readers may not be loaned to other students.
