PROJECT FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS The budgets for all the projects were carefully calculated to cover the following: • Cost of engaging service providers • Cost of contractors • Ancillary costs – production of manuals, Safety files, Medical examinations, Passports, Governmental permits, licences and Authorisations required to implement the projects

  8. RISK MANAGEMENT Risks that the projects may encounter have been identified • Hand injuries • Eye injuries • lower leg and feet injuries • Sunburn Mitigating factors • Safety training • Daily toolbox talks • Pre-commencing task HIRA’s • Site HIRA’s • Use of correct PPE for the task at hand

QUALITY MANAGEMENT The quality of the project end products was assessed as follows: • The end, products were inspected and tested and the results compared with the standard regulations laid down, for the products. • These inspections and tests were performed, by the project manager in conjunction with an impartial competent person.

  10. COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT • The project manager communicated with all parties involved on a weekly basis regarding the project progress, problems encountered and safety aspects. • Communication media comprises the following: • E-mails • Telephone / cell-phones • Meetings

  14. ELECTRIC FENCE INSTALLATION UPGRADEAND REPAIRS The 2.4m high,24-line existing Electric Fence was successfully repaired, upgraded and commissioned at BOSCHENVAAL.

PROJECT TIME TABLE • Day 1 to Day 15 (15 Days) • Replaced insulators on “Y”-Standards • Replaced straining insulators on straining and corner posts • Repaired stand- off brackets on fence line conductors • Repaired earth loops on fence lines • Repaired earthing on existing installation • Day 16 to day 25 (10 Days) • Did zoning on existing fence lines • Installed two Z14, JVA 14J Energizers • Installed two ZM20 Zoning modules with TCP/IP modules • Installed 50 Inch monitor • Installed PC with monitor software • System Setup & commissioning • Day 26 to day 30 (5 Days) • Installed additional earth spikes required for Zoning • Installed lightning protection units

  19. REPAIRS TO ACCESSS CONTROL SYSTEM The existing CCTV surveillance and access control systems were successfully repaired, tested and commissioned.

  22. ELECTRIC FENCE INSTALLATION A 265m, 2.4m high,24-line Electric Fence was successfully designed, installed, and commissioned at Atoll Mine in Benoni to safeguard their Solar Plant against unauthorised entry, theft and acts of vandalism.

PROJECT TIME TABLE • Day 1, 2 & 3 (3 Days) • Marking out of corner & straining posts positions according to fence layout determined by land surveyor, appointed by Atoll mining (Pty) Ltd • Site preparation • Day 4 to day 18 (15 Days) • Excavating of corner, strain, intermediate posts & stay foundations • Excavating of gate rail foundations • Day 19 to day 32 (14 Days) • Phase 1: • Install corner posts with stay posts • Pour 25Mpa concrete foundations

ELECTRIC FENCE INSTALLATION A 630m, 2.4m high,24-line Electric Fence was successfully designed, installed, and commissioned at THARINA BOERDERY in Parys district to safeguard their Silo and Weigh Bridge installation, and Earth Moving machinery against unauthorised entry, theft and acts of vandalism.

Day 62 to Day 66 (5 Days) • Lay sliding gate rail “I”-beams in foundation excavations and pour concrete • Install the two swing gates • Do excavations for sliding gate motor supply cable trenches and lay the supply cable

  40. SOLAR POWER PLANT INSTALLATION A 291 Kw Solar Power plant was successfully designed, installed, and commissioned at Londolozi Private Game Reserve in the Kruger National Park .

PROJECT TIME TABLE • Day 1 to day 20 (20 Days) • Assemble, erect and line up the pre-fabricated aluminium support structures for the three carport roof sheeting and Solar panels. • Lay, align and secure the roof sheeting to the support structures. • Install the gutters and downpipes on the three carports • Day 21 to day 46 (25 Days) • Lay, align and secure the Solar panels on top of the three carport roofs • Install the earth rings around the carports • Do the earthing of the Solar panels and support structures • Do the stringing of the Solar panels on the three carport roofs • Day 47 to day 57 (10 Days) • Install the combiner boxes for the Solar panels on the three carports • Install the cable racks from the Solar panels to the combiner boxes
