In the old testament, God asked Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. • The people of Israel were very happy that God delivered them from Pharaoh since he was treating them very bad. • They walked with Moses for many years in the desert. During all those years, God took care of them, but what do you think they were doing?? Complaining!!

  3. God was very sad and upset with them • He sent fiery serpents which bit them. • People of Isreal knew that they did something very bad. • So they went to Moses to confess their sins and un thankfulness. • They asked Moses to intercede and pray to the Lord that He may remove the serpents from them and forgave them. • Do you thank God listened to them?

  4. Yes, and He said to Moses: “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live. So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived” (Num. 21:8-9). So did the people die?

Similarities between Jesus Cross and the Bronze Serpent? 1- They were both put on a high place. “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up” John 3:14 2- They both gave life. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

What to learn from the Bronze Serpent Story ? • To be thankful for everything. • Appreciate what God gives us. • If I want something, I should requested in a polite way without complaining. • Learn that confession and repentance is important for the forgiveness of sins • Learn that the old testament is full of prophecies about the new testament
