  2. Behavioral Assessment Resource Team Columbine April 20th 1999, two senior students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold embarked on a shooting spree in which 12 students and 1 teacher were killed.   3. Behavioral Assessment Resource Team Virginia Tech April 16th, 2007: Seung-Hui Cho kills 32 people and wounds 17 people before killing himself. Due to federal privacy laws Cho’s previous diagnosis and accommodations in high school are not reported to Virginia Tech. In 2005 Cho was accused of stalking two female students at Virginia Tech. After investigations he was ordered to receive treatment for mental illness. Cho’s mother turned to her church for help for her son.   4. Behavioral Assessment Resource Team Congressional Report A Congressional report issued following the tragedy at Virginia Tech in 2007 recommended the establishment of a threat assessment team on college campuses.

  5. Behavioral Assessment Resource Team Pima Community College January 8th 2011, the attempted assassination of Representative Gabrielle Giffords, killing 6 and wounding 14 others. Jared Lee Loughner dropped out of Pima Community College in October 2010. He was suspended due to complaints of inappropriate behavior in class, and required to have a mental health evaluation which was required to be re-enrolled. He was able to obtain a legal firearm. Failure to connect the dots between mental health and state firearm registrations.

  6. Behavioral Assessment Resource Team Oakland California April 2, 2012, a gunman entered a classroom at an independent university in Oakland opened fire killing seven and wounding three. The suspect was a 43-year old former nursing student.
