  2. Unit I Lesson 1: Machines In this lesson you we learn what is Machine and its examples. • Machine is... • a powered tool consisting of one or more parts that is constructed to achieve a particular goal.

  3. usually powered by mechanical, chemical, thermal or electrical means, and are frequently motorized. • an arrangement of matter devised so that a dependable correspondence is secured between controlled input and useable output.

  4. derived from the Latin word machina, which in turn derives from the Doric Greek (machana), Ionic Greek (mechane) and from the word mechos, which means, expedient remedy.

  5. Different Types of Machines!

  6. A washing machine (laundry machine, washing machine, clothes washer, or washer) is a machine to wash laundry, such as clothing and sheets.

  7. A sewing machine is a machine used to stitch fabric and other materials together with thread.

  8. A vending machine is a machine which dispenses items such as snacks, beverages, alcohol, cigarettes, lottery tickets, cologne, consumer products and even gold and gems to customers automatically, after the customer inserts currency or credit into the machine.
