Flu Pandemic • One of the side effects of SARS was that people scheduled for important treatments, such as cancer surgery, had their care postponed. A number of hospital beds, staff and equipment were redirected to the public health emergency. These kinds of decisions will be even more prevalent during a flu pandemic.
