  3. Location in the Cell • Nucleus • Depends on what type of species • Sometimes in the middle • Depends on the placement of the vacuole • Mitochondria • Zig-zags through the whole cell • Takes up a decent amount of space

  4. Type of cells • Nucleus • All Eukaryotic cells have a nucleus • Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus • Mitochondria • Muscle cells • Photosynthetic cells • Bacterial cells

  5. Functions • Nucleus • Regulates cell activity • Controls present enzymes • Mitochondria • Energy production • Building, breaking down, recycling needed for proper cell structure
