  2. Rooms Division • Provides hotel services directly to guests • It includes the following: • Front Office: Where the guest is registered, assigned to a room, and checked out\ • Reservations: responsible for receiving, accepting, and making reservations for guests

  3. Rooms Division Continued • Uniformed services: Parking attendants, bell hop, elevator attendant, etc. • Housekeeping: Cleans vacant rooms, cleans occupied rooms, and helps front desk keep the status of every room current

  4. Food and Beverage Division • 2nd only to the rooms division in terms of revenue generated for the hotel • Manage: coffee shops, restaurants, lounges, banquet rooms, room service, bar, etc.

  5. Engineering and Maintenance Division • Maintains the appearance of the interior and exterior of the property and keeps all equipment operational • Carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, furniture refinishing, etc.

  6. Marketing and Sales Division • Primary activities of this division are sales, convention services, advertising, and public relations. • Need to coordinate and have knowledge of every division.

  7. Accounting Division • Handles the financial activities of the operation. • Paying bills, sending out statements, receiving payments, payroll, monthly income statements, etc. • Works very close with the front office cashiers • Takes care of taxes • Sometimes accounting division is offsite

  8. Human Resources Division • Helps with recruiting and selecting the most qualified applicants. • Takes care of benefits (i.e.. Health insurance) • Employee relations

  9. Security Division • Handles the hotel’s security • Handles the safety of guests, visitors, and employees.
